The National Blood Service has assured Ghanaians it had put adequate measures in place to ensure there is enough blood in the national blood bank ahead of the yuletide.
This was revealed by the Head of the Southern Blood Bank, Dr Paul Mensah at the launch of the 2015 National Blood Donor Day in Accra.
He said the blood bank would embark on a national blood donation drive to stockpile blood ahead of the festive season.

Statistics over the years have revealed that there is usually pressure on the blood bank during Christmas because of increased number of accidents on the roads.
He appealed to drivers to be careful and abide by the roads safety rules to prevent accidents.
The National Blood Donor Day exercise according to Dr Mensah will start on December 5, in both Accra and Tema.
In a related development, a sensitization workshop to help raise voluntary blood donors in the country has opened at Koforidua.
The workshop is to increase blood donation in the southern part of Ghana by 5,000 units within nine months.
