The Ejisu-Juabeng Municipal Assembly has resolved to give each of their 68 Assembly members Ghc6,000 each as ex-gratia.

[contextly_sidebar id=”AXMBVfYarfwXmPCKgQ2czjl6ngoG4U4r”]The Chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee of the Assembly, Frank Antwi Boisiako who spoke to Citi News at the end of their second annual general meeting defended the decision and confessed that the amount is even not enough considering the efforts made by the members during their period of services.
He further added that the decision has been approved by the Executive Committee and General Assemby members
“Considering the workload of the assembly members this is just a pin up because we spend more money when we attend different occasions,” he said.
He added that their job is a sacrificial one.
Meanwhile, some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the country are struggling to raise internally generated funds and consistently depend on statutory funds from government for development projects.
