Government has refuted claims that the Ghanaian woman arrested in the UK for carrying cocaine holds a Ghanaian diplomatic passport.
According to the Minister of Communications, Edward Omane Boamah, investigations have revealed that the suspect, Nayeli Ametefeh, holds a Ghanaian passport and an Austrian citizenship.

Government said its investigations also revealed that Nayeli traveled from Accra to London on November, 11, 2014.
“She is not acquainted with the first family,” clarifying reports from other media reports that linked the lady to the first family.
Ms Ametefeh has been charged with attempting to import a class A drug.
She appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on November 11 and was remanded in custody until her next appearance at Isleworth Crown Court on November 27.
Border Force Heathrow Director Marc Owen has said: “This seizure has prevented a large quantity of drugs from reaching our streets. I would like to thank the officers for their work in protecting the UK from this terrible trade.”
