Former Deputy Minister of Communications, Victoria Hamah, has filed a case of sexual assault and harassment against a senior police officer stationed at the Dansoman Divisional Police Command and three others at the CID Headquarters, according to the Daily Guide news paper.
Ms Hamah, the sacked deputy minister, was said to have reported the matter to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Alhassan, who referred the case to the CID headquarters in Accra for investigations, immediately after the arrest of her alleged boy friend, one Richard Frimpong Dardo, sometime last month. She claimed that DSP Ferdinand Amengro and the three others—Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu-Bempah, the party’s organiser, Joseph Bediako and one Kwame Amponsah, said to be a miner and gold dealer—had fondled her breasts in the office of the Dansoman Divisional Commander.

Frimpong–Dardo was alleged to have vanished into thin air after an amount of $260,000 was said to have been deposited into his foreign account in the United States, on behalf of Kwame Amponsah.
The suspect was subsequently arrested on Monday, September 22, 2014 by the Dansoman police in Accra in respect of the alleged fraud case.
An attempt to detain the suspect did not go down well with Ms Hamah, who stormed the station to protest vehemently in defence of her purported lover.
The police source stated further that Ms Hamah said when she went to the police station, DSP Amengro, the Divisional Crime Officer, and the three others fondled her breasts and tapped her buttocks.
She was given a hospital form for medical attention but Ms Hamah is yet to return the report to the police.
The four, according to the source, were invited last Thursday to the CID headquarters to give their statements over the said allegation.
The Inside Story
Checks at the Dansoman Police Station by DAILY GUIDE indicated that Ms Hamah, on that fateful day, came to the station in the company of the said Dardo.
Upon reaching the police station, Ms Hamah, who saw the complainant – Kwame Amponsah – in the company of Owusu-Bempah and Joseph Bediako, allegedly began to rain insults on them for having reported Dardo to the police.
“Victoria Hamah was said to have been boasting in the presence of the police that she was going to call President John Dramani Mahama on phone for him to intervene, amid insults on the complainants when she stormed the police station,” a police source intimated.
At the time, the Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Antwi Tabi, was said to be having a meeting with DSP Amengro and that upon hearing the shouts at the charge office, ordered the crime officer to produce Frimpong-Dardo before him.
This was when Vicky reportedly prevented the police officer from discharging that duty.
But with the help of three other female police officers, the crime officer managed to take the suspect to the commander’s office in the company of his (Frimpong-Dardo’s) lawyer, one Danso Opare, and the complainant.
There and then Vicky and Joseph Bediako, who was said to have introduced Mr Amponsah to the suspect and Earnest Owusu-Bempah, also followed up to the commander’s office.
Kwame Amponsah has confirmed to the paper that he went to the CID headquarters to give a statement on the matter days ago.
However, Amponsah stated that none of them touched Vicky Hamah when she was shouting on top of her voice at the police station, expressing shock at her behaviour.
“I believe Ms Hamah is doing this to divert the attention of the public on the fraud case her lover is involved in, but this will not work…” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Antwi Tabi has expressed surprise at the claim that his crime officer, whom he himself had sent to usher in the suspect to his office, had been accused of fondling the breasts of Vicky – who was not in any way related to the case in his own office.
According to Kwame Amponsah, during the heated argument and in the full glare of the public, he was shocked when Victoria Hamah accused him and his friend, Joseph Bediako, of having touched her breasts.
Vicky threatened to deal with them after she claimed to have called the President and the Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani, in the presence of the police officers.
