Some delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ningo-Prampram Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, are planning to disrupt the party’s constituency delegates conference scheduled for Sunday October 5.
The delegates, numbering about two hundred at a mini protest in Ningo told citifmonline.com that they will not allow the elections to come off because of the unfair disqualification of some four key contestants.
The angry delegates allege that some of the constituency executives and the Member of Parliament for the area, E.T Mensah have connived with some Regional Executives to disqualify some four key aspiring candidates.

Some of the delegates who spoke to Citi News Correspondent in Tema, Elvis Washington said, “We need fair play, for the whole Ningo constituency, no Michael, no vote.”
Another delegate who gave his name as Djangma Francis Teye said, “some of the old executive members are discriminating. Why this discrimination?” he asked.
The other one said “yes we are going to stop the elections. They did the same thing in 2012 and we won’t allow this to happen again,” he warned.
In September an Accra Fast High Court restrained the NDC and two of its affiliates from organizing the youth, women and executive elections in the Ningo Prampram Constituency, after four plaintiffs contended that they had been disqualified from contesting the elections by its Vetting Committee.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ade Coker described as “frivolous” and “vexatious” the decision by the court to restrain the executives from holding the elections.
Similar suites have plagued the ruling NDC in many constituencies across the country.
In a separate incident in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, a former president of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC, Linus Njonola, secured a court injunction halting the party’s October congress.
He sued the party for violating its constitution by keeping executives whose tenure had expired but were still at post.
But the lawyer of the NDC, Victor Adawudu after the last court hearing on the matter told Citi News News that they are likely to settle the matter out of court.
