A youth group of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Jirapa of the Upper West is calling on President Mahama to sack the District Chief Executive of the area, Vivian-Nelly Kunko or incur their wrath.
They accuse the DCE of taking bribes and making the party unpopular in the district.
According to them, they fear that the actions of Madam Kunko could cause the defeat of the NDC in the 2016 general elections.
[contextly_sidebar id=”GLqK9xxykwGZtoyHcm0lqNiEUtSVUh6I”]Spokesperson of the group, Ismael Sun speaking to Citi News also accused the DCE of diverting contracts instead of following due process.
He further accused the DCE of disregarding constituency executives of the party and not responsive to the concerns of grass root supporters of the NDC in the area.
He said; “Her actions and inactions are really not helping the unity of the party in the district. If the DCE will vow that she won’t even meet constituency elected party executives to discuss party issues with them, we wonder where the party lies.”
“And not only that, she is always dodging the youth, anything about the youth she is not interested, branding us, dividing us, calling us names,” he added.
He however called on president John Dramani or they would embark on a series of demonstrations to have their concerns addressed.
When Citi News contacted the DCE, Madam Vivian-Nelly Kunko denied such allegations saying such claims are the handy work of her detractors.
Meanwhile, Ghana has recorded similar instances where some aggrieved members had call for their DCE’s to be sacked.
Some of the areas include, Banda district, Sefwi Bodi, Bekwai district, among others.
