Constituency and polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in Adaklu in the Volta region, have declared their support for the party’s two-time presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, ahead of their upcoming presidential primaries on October 18.
The executives, led by the constituency chairman, Raybon Evans Anyadi disclosed to citifmonline.com that their decision was to send a clear signal to the other candidates about their intentions.
[contextly_sidebar id=”FX5Sb0aNkGMuYSTCOW6aaESpZXwHjrMh”]”Adaklu is the smallest constituency in terms of numbers in the Volta region therefore, there would not be any need for us to allow other candidates to muddy the waters” he said, adding that, “I went into the super delegate congress to vote for Nana Akufo Addo, as the chairman and a representative of the constituency, it is obvious all my people in the constituency would vote for Nana Addo in the upcoming presidential primaries”
18 out of the 36 polling station executives who were present at a declaration ceremony said they were convinced that “Nana Akufo-Addo is a president in waiting.”
Also present at the declaration was a former National Deputy Womens Organiser of the NPP, Tina Mensah who described Nana Addo “as the man of the moment who has proven to be a man of integrity.”
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Constituency branch of the NPP and Regional and Constituency Youth Organizers of the party in the Upper East Region have also openly declared support for Nana Addo.
The Minority Leader in Parliament has also thrown his weight behind Nana Addo.
Nana Akufo-Addo will be contesting with Francis Addai-Nimo and Alan Kyeremanten in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
