The National House of Chiefs has upheld the judgment from its Northern Regional branch that declared the late Naa Dasana Andani Yakubu II, as the legitimate Overlord of Bimbilla.
The decision on who is the rightful Overlord of Bimbilla has been in dispute for years, prompting the claimants to appeal to the National House of Chiefs for adjudication.
This was after several failed attempts to get the Northern Regional House of Chiefs to rule in their favour.
The claimants; the late Naa Salifu Dawuni, appealed against the ruling of the Northern regional House of Chiefs that affirmed Naa Dasana Andani II as the overlord of Bimbila.

The murder of the overlord led to some unrest in the area and the developments compelled the Minister of Interior to impose a 12-hour curfew on the town.
However, the Regional House of Chiefs in their ruling on Wednesday declared the late Naa Dasana Andani Yakubu II as the rightful heir.
In an interview with Citi News, lawyer for the late Overlords family, Alhassan Mohammed, said he expects the ruling to bring finality to the chieftaincy dispute in the town because it has dragged for too long.
He said: “Essentially, what happened in court today is that the panel dismissed the appeal filed by the appellants against the judgment of the Northern Regional House of chiefs declaring that Naa Andane Dasana was the lawfully nominated and enskined Bimbilla Naa. So today, the appeal was dismissed against that ruling.”
Early on in the day, activities in the Bimbila Township was brought to a standstill because of the ruling but lawyer Mohammed has cautioned residents to be circumspect in their celebration over the ruling to avert any further clashes.
