The new Sudanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Babikir Elsiddig Mohamed Elamin has called for the support of the Ghana Police Service, and for that matter, Ghana to fight Human Trafficking going on at the horn of Africa.

The ambassador said that there are syndicates which perpetrate this crime, adding that the victims are taken to Italy, Israel and other parts of Europe.

The ambassador also commended the Ghana Police Service for the role it has played and continues to play in bringing peace, law and order to Sudan.

On his part, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan said the relationship between Ghana Police and Sudan is a long standing one, and that there was the need to even strengthen it.

He extolled the reputation of the Ghana Police Service in the fight against human trafficking, making reference to international recognition in this regard.

Mr. Alhassan added that the Police would intensify their effort in the fight and offer whatever assistance Sudan may need to stamp out the canker.
