Dr Bawumia, 2012 running mate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo, has disclosed that all the National Council members and the National Council of Elders in the three regions of the North have declared their support for Nana Addo ahead of the party’s October 18 congress.
He said; “All the MPS of the three northern regions are supporting Nana Akufo-Addo, all our National Council members in the three northern regions are supporting Nana Akufo Addo. National Council of Elders for the three northern regions are supporting Nana Akufo-Addo. Three regional chairmen are supporting Nana Akufo-Addo. All our constituency chairmen are supporting Nana Akufo-Addo. And we are all supporting Nana Akufo-Addo.”
Dr Bawumia said this when he addressed delegates in the Western Region during a campaign tour with Nana Akufo-Addo’s.

They include the Minority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, NPP’s constituency and polling station executives in Adaklu in the Volta region, the Greater Accra Constituency branch and the regional and constituency youth organizers in the Upper East Region, among others.
Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo at the campaign tour said the outcome of the October 18 congress will determine the level of unity within the NPP.
He also pleaded with the delegates to vote for him massively.
“I trust NPP delegates. 2010 I had 80 percent and I am here again to plead with you to give me your support again. On Saturday when you are voting, remember Nana Akufo-Addo. If God permit and I win massively, it will send a strong signal to the NDC that the party is united behind one candidate. We have the people who can govern and change the fortunes of this country,” he said.
