Some Ghanaian students under government scholarships in Macedonia are pleading with government to release their subventions.
Close to a year now, these students have not received a dime from the Scholarship Secretariat and the Government of Ghana.
They complained that, “we have just been kicked out from the student dormitories so we are just perching with friends around and we don’t have nothing.”

Speaking to Citi News, the leader of the students in Mecedonia, Edmond Adomako, said “we are waiting for our total allowances both arrears and present ones. The government is supposed to give us our allowances, including book and health insurance. Its quite unfortunate for the past ten months and we haven’t received anything.”
He however pleaded with government to honour its part of the contract since all efforts on the Ghanaian and the Italian embassies have not yielded any positive results.
The students are therefore calling on the Ghana Government to come to their aid.
