Eleven people have been killed in an accident involving a minibus and a trailer on the Kintampo – Kumasi Road.
According the District Police Commander of Kintampo, ASP Ahmed Abonor Atalata, the accident occcured when the driver of the minibus attempted overtaking a trailer.
ASP Atalata told Citi News that “the minibus was overtaking a number of vehicles so he left his lane and came unto the lane of the Daf articulator truck and crushed it.”
[contextly_sidebar id=”Dfvpo3r8YnYstEJxpBtmdLMJk6agZp0a”]He said on the spot 9 people lost their lives. Among them was a baby, while seven others received various levels of injuries adding that the bodies have been deposited at the Jeimah and Kintampo Government hospitals.
He added that another injured person died upon reaching the hospital.
In a separate accident today at Babator towards Kintampo, a Benz articulator track belonging to the Voltic Company run into a tricycle killing two people.
