The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has denied reports that it has banned flights from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
News paper reports on Saturday stated that the Ghana Airport company has banned flights from these countries as part of the emergency response to prevent anyone with the deadly Ebola virus from entering Ghana.
But the GCAA in a statement stated that flight operations to and from Nigeria and other African countries have been normal without any interruption.
The statement further assured passengers and the General Public that the GCAA was working with all stakeholders to ensure that the Kotoka International Airport and all other airports in the country remain safe and secure.
The Ebola virus has been confirmed in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, killing about 729 people since February.
The deadly Ebola virus kills up to 90% of those infected.

RE- EBOLA: GHANA BANS ALL FLIGHT FROM NIGERIA, OTHERS
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority’s attention has been drawn to an online publication on the above subject on Saturday, 2nd August, 2014 and we wish to state emphatically that the publication is erroneous and misleading.
The GCAA as the sole Regulator of the Air Transport industry and Provider of Air Navigation Service in the country has not ban any airline from Nigeria and other African Country from operating to Ghana because of Suspicion that the flights might be carrying passengers with the Ebola virus.
We can confirm that flight operations to and from Nigeria and other African countries are normal without any interruption.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority wishes to assure passengers and the General Public that it is working with all Stakeholders to ensure that the Kotoka International Airport and all other airports in the country remain safe and secure.
