The residents whose properties were demolished by the Adenta Municipal Assembly have accused the Member of Parliament of Adenta, Emanuel Nii Ashie Moore of fraud.
The Adenta Aviation Demolition Victims Association say the MP has kept the money meant as compensation for them for his personal use.
Several houses and shops were pulled down by the Adenta Assembly in January 2014 to make way for the construction of a Pan-African International Business District (Pan-IBD).
The chiefs of the Adenta area sued government over the demolition.
In an interview with Citi News, a member of the association, Dr. Joseph Awuni, disclosed that, 500 hundred structures were demolished but Nii Ashie Moore kept the 700,000 Ghana Cedis meant as compensation for them.
He added that , “he[Nii Ashie Moore] told us that he had paid some of the people and we requested for the list and up till today he has not given it to us”
Meanwhile, in a rebuttal, the Member of Parliament [MP] of Adenta Emanuel Nii Ashie Moore has denied all those allegations and challenged the group to provide proof of their claims.
“I was with the members of the Adenta Aviation Demolition Association I granted interviews to all the radio and TV stations, nobody has paid any compensation, the best I know is that the case has been taken to court”
