The Volta Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held elections to select their regional representatives to the national council.
The region was the last to conduct the elections.
This was after a former constituency chairman of the party challenged the legality of the National council.
Speaking to Citi News, The Chairman of the party in the Volta region, John Peter Amewu spoke about the difficulties faced in conducting the elections.
“Because there was no clear guideline, we had to seek a lot of advices from all the other angles and all the other regions that have already gone through. Don’t forget that Volta region is an infant region. We don’t have enough MPs coming from this region; none at all and so, issues of financial difficulties are also very prominent within our region when it comes to it. And so we had to wait and seek advice, and look at the way other regions have done it so that we come out that way,” He said,
