The President has assured Ghanaians, the time for talking has passed and his government will create change to propel the development of the country.
In his Republic Day message to the nation, President John Mahama said his government will continue to listen to the concerns of the citizens because they are the recipients of government policies and decisions.
Ghana is celebrating its 54th Republic Day anniversary; a day in which the country totally weaned itself from British Colonial rule.
The nation in recent times has been bedeviled with several developmental and economic challenges; creating a lot of discomfort among the populace.
A group of concerned citizens embarked on a demonstration dubbed ‘Occupy Flagstaff House’ to express their displeasure against the current economic hardships.
The President in his address acknowledged that “we all have a stake in the destiny of our nation and irrespective of our ethnic origin, gender or political affiliation, we can work together to make our nation great and strong.”
He promised his government together with the people of Ghana will “create change. Together we will build the sort of country that we will be proud to hand down to our children and their children.”
