Some assembly members of the Estate Electoral Area in the Anhwiaso-Bibiani-Bekwai district of the Ashanti Region are asking government to sack the District Chief Executive, Mr. Joseph Adansi Bonnah.

The people of that District Assembly issued an ultimatum to Central Government to sack Mr. Bonnah within a month or face their wrath.

This request has been made based on accusations of misappropriation of funds by the DCE.

According to them, Mr. Bonnah rented a grader for a road project when he could have used the money to repair a broken down grader owned by the assembly.

They further accused him of abandoning projects initiated by his predecessors and not managing sanitation  properly in the district.

Kwame Asamoah the leader of the unhappy assembly members spoke to Citi News.

“The reason is that they have abandoned some of the projects like the new market project. The refuse damp container, they are supposed to do it because the whole district they have just 8 containers.

“Road network is not good, we approved the budget for him to maintain the grader but he abandoned it and used different funds to hire a new grader.

“We want to use this medium to inform the President that this DCE is not performing so should be sacked. Or he should resign honorably”
