Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has donated GHC 20,000 and 50 cartons of ABL and Voltic Ghana products to the Ga Traditional Council to support the celebration of the 2014 Homowo Festival.
According to the Managing Director of Accra Brewery Limited, Mr. Anthony Grendon, the gesture is one of many Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities undertaken by the company.
Mr. Grendon said the occasion also gave him the opportunity to meet and introduce himself to the traditional leaders.
He also revealed that Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), subsidiary of SABMiller plc, is expected to complete works on the multi-million dollar expansion project at its brewery site, on Graphic Road in Adabraka in November 2014.
‘’The expansion project is expected to double the company’s capacity and is estimated to be executed over a period of 12 to 24 months. The investment in this expansion project is valued at approximately USD100million and entails the construction of two new state-of-the-art packaging lines, a new warehouse, material storage areas and a waste treatment plant,’’ he said.
‘’We’ve got a lot of new innovations coming through and there will be more innovations coming forward with our new capacity,’’ he added.
On his part, acting president of the Ga traditional Council, Nii Dodoo Nsacki II, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Managing Director and staff of ABL for their continuous support and courtesy to the Ga community.
Accra Brewery Limited has been brewing beer in Ghana since 1951, when the company was established.
