Ghanaian winger Ishmael Yartey is close to being signed on a full transfer by Swiss side FC Sion. The player was on loan from relegated French team FC Sochaux and sources say Sion have decided to activate the option for a full purchase from the former French Ligue 1 team.
Sources close to the player say there are ongoing discussions between his agent and the two clubs involved, Sochaux and Sion
Should the deal go through, Yartey will team up with fellow Ghanaian Ebenezer Assifuah at Sion for next season’s campaign in the Swiss League.
Yartey was part of Ghana’s Under 17 team that took part in the age group’s World Cup in Korea in 2007 but has not been able to make his way to the upper levels of national teams following the tournament.
