The 2014 Vlisco Ambassador, Eugenia Mawuena Adjoa Tachie-Menson as part of her campaign has donated some items to the Achimota Hospital.
Mrs. Tachie-Menson with help from Vlisco presented 50 branded bed sheets, 20 branded towels and 30 Baby Cot sheets.
During her campaign to become Vlisco Ambassador, Mrs. Tachie–Menson paid a visit to the Achimota Hospital – Maternity unit and donated diapers, towels and bed sheets to the unit.
According to Mrs. Tachie – Menson, she chose the Achimota Hospital due to her passion to give back to that unit because she knows the needs of pregnant women who give birth in hosiptals and other health faclities and the challenges they face.
She also mentioned that she is a big believer in giving back to one’s community and the Achimota hospital is in a community she is a part of.
Eugenia was adjudged winner of the Vlisco Ambassador 2014 in keenly contested competition in March. She beat Anita Erskine-Amaizo and Ayesha Bedwei to win the second edition of the Vlisco Women’s Month campaign.
The Vlisco Women’s Month is a campaign used to celebrate and honour the exceptional achievements of women in West and Central Africa.
The campaign takes its origin from the International Women’s Day; a day set aside to recognize and honour women for their achievements and contribution to the development of society.
Vlisco have therefore dedicated the entire month of March to celebrate women.
Mrs. Tachie – Menson along with the other Vlisco Women’s month Ambassadors from Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of the Congo are expected to take a 3 day trip to the Netherlands later in June.
The trip will see the women pay a special visit to the Vlisco factory in the Netherlands to see how the beautiful Vlisco fabrics are made
