A second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Crabbe has advised the regional chairmen of the party use channels within the party to address their concerns before going public.
The regional chairmen on Monday held a press conference asking the National Executive Council to move the date for electing a presidential candidate from December 6, 2014 to a new date in September 2014.
‘’We have a constitution and we shall at all time follow it; we have ways of addressing these things. They, being members of the National Executive Committee and National Council, I would expect that they will raise it right there,’’ he said.
He asked members with such to choose ‘’the appropriate platform’’ for resolution.
According to the chairmen, the change in date will help reduce the negative attacks that characterize the primaries.
But Mr. Crabbe in an interview on Eyewitness News said if the concerns of the regional chairmen have merit, they should use the party structures to address them and they will be appropriately addressed.
”… I believe that if these things are raised at the appropriate quarters and targeted properly; i believe people will listen and they have any merit, will be [dealt with]…” he noted.
He called on the party’s regional chairmen to respect the constitution of the party.
