At a press briefing right after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia gave a detailed breakdown of how the internal elections would be carried out.
Mr. Nketiah noted that ““we [NDC] have from now until 19th July to complete all the party’s branch elections and up to 31st August to do all the constituency elections”
According to him “all regional conferences are expected to be concluded by 5th October”
He later entreated the various branches not to “ wait for other branches to finish their elections, you can go and proceed with your constitutional elections”
Other issues discussed during the NEC meeting included election strategies for the 2016 general election as well as internal disapproval over the President’s recent ministerial appointments, especially at the regional level.
