Ken Ashigbey tips Ghana to win World Cup

The Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group, Kenneth Ashigbey, has stressed the importance of local support for the Black Stars if they are to be successful at the World Cup.

According to him, the occasions like the World Cup should be embraced by the populace as an opportunity to put behind them their partisan interests in order to champion the singular vision of the Nation.

He was speaking at a ceremony held to reward thirteen winners of the Graphic Sports World Cup promotion of which three had won tickets to see Ghana’s three group games at the Mundial.

“This is an opportunity for us to rally behind the team especially when we have a Ghanaian in the helm of affairs,we need to support this team.

“This is a Ghana project which proves that the black man is capable of rubbing shoulders with the elite of the soccer fraternity,”he said.

Taking time to speak about the promotion which is the first of its kind by print media, he disclosed that plans were underway to use Graphic Sports to spearhead the development of sports and revive interest in our local soccer league.

“Going forward we want to be able to help grow our sports especially our local football. We want to position our league to receive the kind of patronage that the European leagues are getting at the moment,”he told Citi Sports.

He lastly that having a Ghanaians at the helm of affairs meant the Black Stars were poised to make history at the World Cup by upsetting the odds.

“I am an ardent believer in Ghana. As an engineer who also believes in trends, the only time when we have won anything is when Ghanaians have been in control.

“My faith tells me that Ghana is going to excel and possibly win the World Cup,”he said

The Black Stars will play their first game against the United States of America on the 16th of June at the Estadio das Dunas in Natal.
