The Ga Paramount Stool Dsase, a group of royals in Ga State appointed to enstool and distool chiefs and other royals in Ga State has called on all Ghanaians to disregard any claimant to the Ga Stool.
The Ga Royal Paramount Stool has been in dispute over who is the rightful heir to ascend the throne following the death of the last Ga Mantse, Nii Amugi III in 2004.
There have been two claimants to the stool since, including the late Dr Joe Blankson who died in London last year.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, the Acting Head of the Akropong Division of the Ga State, Henry Nii Clottey Vanderpuije revealed that the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs mandated Head of the Agyemankese Division of the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase, Nii Agyemankese II together with the Accredited Heads, Elders and Representatives of the Ga Paramount Stool to act as facilitators to ensure an amicable solution to all disputes in the Ga State.
He said the group is also mandated “to protect the interest of the entire Ga State, in all deliberations and are empowered to contact any individual and institutions including the government and its associated institutions and agencies for the support needed to achieve this target”.
To this end, he declared a suspension of all traditional positions within the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase, Tunma We, Abola-Accra.
These include the position of Ga Mantse, Ga Paramount Stool Dsasetse and Heads and Acting Heads of four of the Royal Ruling Houses of the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase, Tunma We, Abola-Accra.
“The only positions to be maintained presently are the Divisional Head of the Agyemankese, the Acting Head of the Akropong Division and the position of the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase Coordinator,” Henry Nii Clottey Vanderpuije added.
Per the mandate, Nii Clottey Vanderpuije said anyone who speak in the name of the Ga Paramount Stool Dsase, Tunma We, Abola-Accra will be breaching the peace process.
