The ban on motorbikes riding in Bimbila Township has been completely lifted.

Residents of the area for two days were banned from riding motorbikes ahead of burial of the late murdered Bimbila Naa Dasana Andani Abdulai II.

During the ban, movement of residents of Bimbila Township was curtailed since motorbikes are the fastest and available means of transportation.

People who rode motorbikes from Tamale, Yendi and other parts of the Northern Region to witness the handing over of the body of the late murdered Bimbila chief to the bereaved family were asked to pack their motorbikes at the Bimbila barrier.

The ban was lifted on Friday June, 27, 2014 after burial of the late murdered Bimbila chief.

Relative calm has returned to the troubled Bimbila Township and the security arrangement there is tight.

Meanwhile, the late murdered Bimbila Naa Dasana Andani’s third day funeral rites will be performed on Sunday June, 29, 2014 in Bimbila.
