Jerry Akaminko will undergo minor knee surgery in the next few hours as he goes into admission later Thursday in the United States.
The Ghana defender injured his ankle during the Black Stars’ friendly against Holland on Saturday.
Akaminko, who is thus ruled out of the World Cup, traveled with the team to the U.S from Rotterdam to have the surgery done.
The Turkey-based defender met with the medical team on Wednesday ahead of his admission into hospital for the surgical process to begin.
