Ghanaians abroad: Jordan, Rabiu and Assifuah score in Europe

Over the weekend, Ghanaian players distinguished themselves all over the world.

Not surprisingly, Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored twice in the UAE and Jordan Ayew was also on target in France.

Rabiu Mohammed’s rehabilitation continued with a goal in Russia whilst youth prodigy Ebenezer Assifuah scored in Switzerland.

England

In the Championship, Jeffrey Schlupp was an unused substitute as Leicester City beat Doncaster Rovers 1-0.

Albert Adomah was replaced at half time by Adam reach as Middlesbrough thrashed Yeovil Town 4-1.

In League Two, Patrick Agyemang was an unused substitute as Portsmouth drew 3-3 with Plymouth Argyle.

Germany

In the Bundesliga, Kevin Prince Boateng played the full match as Schalke 04 beat Freiburg 2-0.

In the 2.Bundesliga, Baba Abdul Rahman replaced Daniel Brosinski 14 minutes from time as Greuther Furth thrashed Energie Cottbus 6-0.

In 3.Liga, Pius Ofosu Ayeh played the full match as MSV Duisburg lost 1-4 to Unterhaching.

Italy

 In Serie A, Isaac Cofie replaced Stefano Sturaro in the 17th minute and was booked seven minutes later as Genoa drew 0-0 with Bologna.

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu scored in the 21st minute and played the full match as Udinese beat Livorno 5-3. Alfred Duncan was replaced by Paolo Castellini 13 minutes from time for Livorno.

Afriyie Acquah played the full game as Parma beat Sampdoria 2-0.

Sulley Muntari replaced Andrea Poli in the 72nd minute and Michael Essien was an unused substitute as AC Milan beat Inter Milan 1-0.

In Serie B, Nii Nortey Ashong was an unused substitute as Spezia beat Reggina 2-1.

Moro Alhassan was an unused substitute as Cesena beat Avellino 2-0.

Amidu Salifu played the full match as Modena beat Siena 3-1.

Spain

In La Liga, Richmond Boakye Yiadom was replaced by Cristian Herrera in the 52nd minute as Elche beat Malaga 1-0.

In the Segunda Division, Thomas Teye Partey played the full match as Mallorca lost 0-2 to Eibar.

France

In the Coupe de France final, John Boye was an unused substitute as Rennes lost 0-2 to Guingamp.

In Ligue 1, Jonathan Mensah replaced Eric Tie Bi in the 77th minute as Evian TG lost 0-1 to Reims.

Jordan Ayew was booked in the 30th minute, scored in the 56th minute and was replaced by Emmanuel Mayuka nine minutes from time as Sochaux beat Nice 2-0.

Abdul Majeed Waris played the full match as Valenciennes lost 0-1 to Bordeaux.

Andre Ayew played the full match as Marseille beat Lyon 4-2.

Netherlands

In the Eredivisie, Christian Atsu played the full game as Vitesse Arnhem lost 1-2 to Utrecht.

Mitch Apau played the full game as RKC Waalwijk lost 0-3 to Heerenveen.

Kwame Quansah was replaced at half time by Milano Koenders as Heracles lost 1-3 to Groningen.

Fred Benson replaced Guyon Fernandez 13 minutes from time as PEC Zwolle drew 2-2 with Twente, for whom Shadrach Eghan was an unused substitute.

Turkey

In the Super Lig, Jerry Akaminko was an unused substitute as Eskisehirspor lost 1-4 to Kayserispor.

Russia

 In the Premier League, Rabiu Mohammed replaced Lorenzo Melgarejo in the 65th minute and scored 11 minutes from time as Kuban Krasnodar beat Krylya Sovetov 4-0.

Mubarak Wakaso replaced Dmitri Torbinski in the 53rd minute as Rubin Kazan beat Ural 1-0.

Belgium

In the Pro League, Nana Akwasi Asare played the full match as Gent beat Lierse 4-0.

Abraham Kudemor was an unused substitute as Charleroi lost 1-2 Kortrijk.

Abdul Yakinu Iddi replaced Alessandro Cordaro eight minutes from time as Mechelen beat Cercle Brugge 2-0.

Daniel Opare played the full match as Standard Liege thrashed Zulte Waregem 4-1.

Bernard Kumordzi was booked in the 71st minute and played the full match as Genk lost 1-2 to Lokeren.

Frank Acheampong replaced Dennis Praet in the 82nd minute as Anderlecht beat Club Brugge 1-0.

Denmark

In the Super Liga, Kamal Issah was an unused substitute as Nodsjaelland beat Randers 1-0.

Francis Dickoh played the full match as Midtjylland beat Vestsjaelland 3-1.

Finland

In the Veikkausliiga, Gideon Baah played the full match as HJK beat VPS 2-0.

Norway

In the Eliteserien, Adam Kwarasey and Mohammed Abu both played the full game as Stromsgodset beat Bodo Glimt 2-0.

Mahatma Otoo played the full match as Sogndal lost 0-2 to Lillestrom.

Ernest Asante was replaced by Jorge Castro a minute from time as IK Start drew 1-1 with Brann.

Romania

In the Liga I, Seidu Yahaya played the full match as Astra Giurgiu drew 0-0 with Gaz Metan Medias.

Sweden

In the Allsvenskan, King Osei Gyan played the full match as Halmstad lost 1-2 to Mjallby, for whom Kwame Bonsu was replaced in te 59th minute by Daniel Nilsson.

Nasiru Mohammed was an unused substitute as Hacken beat Malmo 2-1.

Mohammed Abubakari played the full game as Atvidaberg drew 1-1 with Djurgarden, for whom Yusif Chibsah replaced Andreas Johanssen in the 78th minute.

Samuel Mensah replaced Kalle Holmberg in the 60th minute as Orebro lost 0-2 to Kalmar.

Switzerland

In the Super League, Ebenezer Assifuah scored in the 47th minute and was replaced by Xavier Kouassi in the 57th minute whilst Ishmael Yartey replaced Dimitris Christofi in the 78th minute as Sion beat Luzern 1-0.

Samuel Afum was replaced by Josef Martinez as Young Boys lost 0-5 to Grasshoppers.

United Arab Emirates

In the Arabian Gulf League, Asamoah Gyan scored in the 21st and 42nd minutes as Al Ain drew 2-2 with Al Jazira

United States

In the MLS, Gershon Koffie played the full match as Vancouver Whitecaps beat San Jose Earthquakes.

Patrick Nyarko was replaced by Matt Watson in the 62nd minute as Chicago Fire lost 2-3 to Real Salt Lake.

Khalif Alhassan replaced Steve Zakuani in the 69th minute as Portland Timbers beat DC United 3-2.

Dominic Oduro replaced Hector Jimenez at half time as Columbus Crew lost 0-2 to Sporting KC.
