Asante Kotoko won their 23rd Ghanaian league title after beating New Edubiase 2-1 away from home on Wednesday.
The Reds, had been at the top spot of the league table for a large part of the season and held on to clinch their third title on the bounce thanks to goals from Seidu Bancey and Prince Baffoe while the home side scored through Nti Mensah.
Kotoko now have 54 points; seven points ahead of second-placed Heart of Lions and Edubiase have 36 points are 12th on the log.
Dwarfs beat Bechem United by a lone goal scored by Ernest Akrong to give some aid to their fight against relegation. The Cape Coast team is now 15th on 33 points while Bechem United has 36 points and are 11th on the table.
Inter Allies‘ great run in the second round was snapped by Hearts of Oak after they lost by lone goal at the Accra Sports Stadium. Winful Cobbinah struck in the 64th minute to give the Phobians all points ahead of their encounter with rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on the 1st of June, 2014 in Kumasi.
Liberty Professionals went to Kumasi to beat King Faisal with the goals coming from Kennedy Ashia and Jafaru Abdul-Samed. King Faisal had hoped to get a good result to ease their relegation fears but the loss has now left them in 14th position with 34 points.
Liberty, on the other hand, move up to 8th on 39 points.
Medeama Sporting Club were 2-0 winners over Berekum Chelsea at the Tarkwa T&A Park.
Godbles Asamoah and Nathaniel Asamoah were the scorers for the Yellow and Mauves and they are now 6th on 39 points while Chelsea are now 13th on 36 points.
In other results, Heart of Lions beat Amidaus 3-1 in Tema and Wa All Stars drew goalless with AshantiGold.
