Jeffery Schlupp is the answer to Ghana’s long-standing problem, according to Kwesi Appiah.
The Black Stars left-back has been the biggest problem for almost a decade, with over ten players having auditioned for the role.
To kill the problem for good, the coach went to the English Championship for the 21-year old.
Jeffery Schlupp’s form for Leicester has been interesting in his power runs at the laterals. They have since qualified for next season’s Barclays Premier League.
“Like you said [Jeffery] Schlupp has been invited just once but I have been monitoring him even during the Nations Cup,” he said.
“He went to Manchester United [on trials] but he was moved into attack and I thought to myself I didn’t need any strikers.
“But he was moved back to left-back when he returned to Leicester and as you all know Leicester have qualified to the Premier League.
“I have been monitoring him [Schlupp] since December and I have been looking for a competent left-back so I want to closely assess him and see.”
The team will camp in the Netherlands and the USA before heading to Brazil.
