Board and Management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have appointed Isaac Offei Gyimah as the new acting Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.
His appointment follows the Health Ministry’s directive that the former CEO proceed on his accumulated leave.
In an interview with the Public Relations Officer of KATH, Kwamena Frimpong told Citi News the new appointment was made in collaboration with the Health Ministry.
“The Board met last Friday and endorsed the appointment of the Director of Administration, Offei Gyimah as the acting Chief Executive of the hospital,’’ he explained.
The Ministry of Health directed the former CEO, Professor Ohene Adjei to proceed on leave following his failure to produce the bodies of three still born babies allegedly disposed off by a staff of the hospital.
The Ministry issued an order for management of the facility to account for the babies declared dead on February 5 this year.
