The District Chief Executive for Gomoa West in the Central Region, Theophilius Adu Mensah, says he is confident that all three Senior High Schools(SHS) in his district will perform well in next year’s, West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) SHS rankings.
Apart from Apam Senior High School which ranked 97 in this year’s rankings, the other two, Gomoa Senior High Technical School and Mozano SHS performed abysmally.
Speaking to Citi News after touring all three schools, Theophilus Adu Mensah said measures have been put in place to ensure students perform well in this year’s WASSCE.
“We encouraged the students and we made them go through a lot of trail tests so we are confident that this time around, the three schools in the Gomoa district will perform creditably,” he said
He also stated that government had put in place measures to address the challenges.
“We know that there are a lot of challenges but in the year 2014, government has put in place measures to tackle the problem.”
