A 35-year old confidence trickster, Charles Andoh who allegedly forged the signature of Minister for Energy, has been granted police inquiry bail.
Charles Andoh was arrested for allegedly forging Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah’s signature to engage in a fictitious oil deal.
Managers of Muira Energy firm were accused of forging the signature of Energy Minister to lay claim over a piece of oil rich area off the coast of the Western region.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Police command, investigations into the matter have so far proven that Charles Andoh was the culprit.
He was arrested on Wednesday 16 April, 2014 to assist the police in their investigations.
The Greater Accra Regional crime officer, Chief Superintendent Paul Kontonmah told Accra based Joy FM that the police accused would be dealt with if found culpable.
“We have not charged him, we have taken an investigation caution statement from him for forgery; we cautioned him and then granted him police enquiry bail,’’ he said.
Chief Supt. Kontonmah explained why the accused was granted police inquiry bail saying, “We granted him bail because of the Easter holidays; because of the Easter holidays we can’t keep him in custody like that so we granted him bail to be reporting to us while we continue with our investigations.’’
