Vodafone Wholesale, a subsidiary of Vodafone Ghana, says it will build strategic partnerships with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecom operators to increase internet penetration in the country.

“Internet penetration in the country is low. Our commitment is to enable ISPs in the market to take advantage of our backbone to expand and offer services to more customers at very competitive prices,” said Julius Owusu-Kyeremanten, Managing Director of Vodafone Wholesale.

Speaking at a the company’s annual dinner and awards ceremony to honour customers for their first-rate performance, loyalty and contribution to the growth of Vodafone Wholesale, Julius  Owusu-Kyeremanten also mentioned that Vodafone Wholesale had increased the level of internet access in Ghana and the sub-region through its dedication to meet the bandwidth needs of ISPs and mobile network operators.

According to him, Vodafone Wholesale is a dynamic company with a pioneering spirit and is determined to increase the value for its customers through new investment opportunities with a view of achieving sustainable returns.

The Chief Executive of Ghana Telecoms Chamber, Kwaku Sakyi-Addo, who was the guest speaker, thanked Vodafone Wholesale for providing reliable and cost effective internet wholesale capacity for telecom operators and ISPs”

“We trust that the relationship between telecom companies, ISPs and Vodafone Wholesale will grow in the coming years to our mutual advantage,” he added.

He congratulated Vodafone Wholesale Ghana for winning the award for the best African product at the prestigious Global Carrier Award held recently in Amsterdam.

The well-attended Vodafone Wholesale event which brought together major Internet Service Providers and Mobile Network Operators (MNO) saw Gateway Communication Limited winning the ‘Business of the Year Award’, while Supertech Technologies Ltd won the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’. Other winners included Africa Online Ghana Limited for ‘Excellence in on-going Achievement and Loyalty’, Ghana Grid Company Limited for ‘Supplier Partner of the Year’, and MainOne Cable Company Limited for ‘Excellence Award in Partnership’.
