The police failed to produce in court jailed suspected armed robber, Johnson Kombian whose case resumed on Tuesday March 4, 2014.

Kombian’s absence was largely attributed to the failure of the police to serve the Ankaful Prison authorities jailer warrant to produce him in the Accra Fast Track High court room four.

Johnson Kombian is standing trial for allegedly killing Constables Prince Agyare and Owusu Frimpong of the Ghana Police Service.

Both of them were reported killed on duty in Nakpanduri Township of the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district of the northern region.

Jonson Kombian who is already custody at the Ankaful Prisons in the central region is serving 11-year jail term with hard labour.

He was charged for escaping lawful custody and for allegedly causing harm to innocent civilians during his operations in Nakpanduri and its adjourning communities.

The presiding Judge, His Lordship M.H Logoh accordingly adjourned the case to March 17.

It will be recalled that Johnson Kombian was arrested on October 17, 2010 through Interpol in neighboring Togo where he sought refuge when he was declared wanted by the Ghana police.

Chief State Attorney, Anthony Rexford Wiredu is representing the Republic in the Johnson Kombian case.
