The Judgment Debt Commissioner, Justice Yaw Appau has allayed fears of Ghanaians saying documents belonging to the commission are intact following the fire that gutted its offices last year.
According to Justice Appau, the work of the judgment debt commission will not be impeded despite the December 2013 fire outbreak at the Old Parliament House.
On the Commission’s first sitting on Monday, Justice Yaw Appau re-affirmed the commission’s position explaining that its Information Communication Technology(ICT) specialists managed to secure back-up copies of the documents.
“We should have resumed our sittings after the Christmas break on the 6th of March but here we are, today is 24th March, meaning we have lost almost three months. Our equipment we were working with were completely destroyed in the inferno. But thanks to the vigilance of our ICT personnel, we were able to save all our proceedings,” he said.
