The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has inaugurated about 10 committees to start preparations ahead of the party’s annual national delegates conference scheduled for April 12, 2014 in Tamale.
The committees include that of food, transport, accommodation, security management and oversight as well as the grounds committee.
Some members of the national election committee including retired Brigadier Odai, Opare Hammond and Martin Adjei Mensah Korsa supervised the formation of the committees.
Some party stalwarts in the three regions of the north have been appointed to chair the various committees.
Members of the committees include both new and old regional executives and some members of the NPP council of elders.
The NPP northern regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu in an interview with Citi News said his colleague Chairmen for the Upper East and Upper West regions have joined forces to make the delegates conference successful.
“All the committees have resumed work and everybody both new and old regional executives are playing a role to make the congress successful.”
He gave the assurance that nothing untoward will happen before, during and after the annual national delegates conference.
