King Faisal shocked leaders Asante Kotoko by a lone goal in the Kumasi Derby in the 19th week of the First Capital Plus Premier League.

With the game heading to a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium, Faisal’s Wilson Andoh grabbed the winner in injury time to give Faisal an important win over the defending champions.

Kotoko are still top of the pile with 43 points while move up to 9th on 25 points.

Heart of Lions ended their two-game losing run with an exciting 3-2 win over Bechem United in Kpando.

The home side took a two-goal lead in the first half through Sam Yeboah and Isaac Osae but Augustine Okrah scored for Bechem to make it 2-1.

Lions went back in front when Prince Acquah scored but another Augustine Okrah goal made it a nervous finish for the home side who now have 30 points and 3rd on the table while Bechem are now 5th with 27 points.

A Kennedy Ashia brace was the foundation for Liberty Professionals as they beat Hasaacas by three goals to one.

The former Under-20 World Cup campaigner scored his first game in the  63rd minute and his team-mate Tamiru Muntari scored the second on the 67th minute.

Frederick Quayson pulled one back for the visitors bu Ashia struck late in the game from close range.

The Dansoman-based team pushed to 13th with 23 points while Hasaacas fell to 8th on 26 points.

AshantiGold could not end their recent dry spell of three straight losses in the league after they drew 1-1 with Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium.

Gafaru Nasiru gave the home side the lead after 17 minutes and they held on until the 92nd minute when Abdul Fatau Safiu scored for the bottom placed team.

AshGold now have 28 points with Inter Allies now pulling themselves even with Dwarfs on 17 points even though Dwarfs have played a game less.

After losing to Kotoko in their last match, Amidaus were on the winning side after they beat New Edubiase by a lone goal.

Appiah Asante’s goal in the second half brought three points to the home side and sent them to 12th place with 24 points while Edubiase have 24 points and are 10th.
