The Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s deadline to relocate commercial activities at Sodom and Gomorrah to Adjin Kotoku in the Ga West Municipality has elapsed.
Accra Mayor. Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuye earlier announced February 28 as the deadline for the relocation exercise.
Citi News checks uncovered that the planned relocation exercise has stalled without any reasons from the AMA.
Meanwhile, angry property owners of Adjin Kotoku whose properties have been earmarked for demolishing to pave way for the relocation of activities of Sodom and Gomorrah market insisted they will use legal means to protect their properties.
Spokesperson for the Adjin Kotoku landlords association, Joseph Fankibi in an interview with Citi News unequivocally stated, “We are simply saying that we are not going to think twice in bringing legal action against any state institution that will abet with this heinous crime and we mean our words.”
Mr. Fankibi said their lawyers have written to the lands commission and cautioned against any attempt to forcefully demolish properties at Adjin Kotoku for the relocation of commercial activities at Sodom and Gomorrah.
