Former management committee chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakkour has advised the Phobians to hire an expatriate coach.
According to him “there is no good coach in Ghana at the moment, so Hearts of Oak should look outside the country for a coach.”
Sections of Hearts fans are not happy with the performance current coach Mohammed Polo since the legendary player took to the helm from David Duncan in November last year.
Zakkour believes that the problems facing Hearts of Oak is beyond the local coaches and only foreign trainers can bring the best out of the current team.
Although Polo is working as the interim coach, after Duncan’s exit, Zakkour believes that is not the solution to the problem because no coach on the local scene is worthy the job.
“The decision makers in the club have to look for a foreign trainer, because there is no good coach in the system to take up the job.
We don’t have good coaches like Jones Attuquayefio in the country, who could stump on their authority. If you are a player and you leave camp without permission, Jones won’t let you in,’’ he told Allsports.com.gh.
Zakkour headed Hearts of Oak to four premier league titles, one CAF Champions League success and one CAF Super Cup title.
