medeama fcMedeama Sporting Club has stated it is ready for more complex challenges in the second round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Yellow and Mauves beat Panthers of Equatorial Guinea 2-0 in Sekondi over the weekend to progress via a 4-1 aggregate score and meet MAS Fez of Morocco, who are former winners of the competition.

That fact is not lost on Medeama and according to them; the quality of the Moroccans will make the tie more difficult encounter than the one against Panthers.

“I think that in terms of opposition, MAS will be better opponents than Panthers.

They have won the tournament and the CAF Super Cup before and that means they will come at us in a very strong way.

The gap in quality in the leagues of Morocco and Equatorial Guinea tells us that MAS will be very difficult to handle and we must prepare well”, said Ebenezer Aidoo, Public Relations Officer of Medeama in an interview with Citi Sports on Sunday.

Aidoo also said Medeama would have to get their preparations to the right levels since they would host the first leg before travelling to North Africa for the return tie.

The match comes off on the weekend of the 28th February, 1st and 2nd of March with the second leg scheduled to be played on the weekend of the 7th, 8th and 9th of March, 2014.
