Euroget De-Invest S.A, one of Euroget group of Egypt has secured a One hundred and Eighty (180) million U.S Dollar contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) of Ghana to undertake a poject for a 500 bed Military Hospital in Kumasi.
The project consists of three (3) stages.
The first stage is the design, engineering and specification phase which had been completed and approved by MOD.
The second stage is the complete construction of electro mechanical external work, public health service and the staff housing which has been awarded to M. Barbisotti & Sons by Euroget De-Invest S.A.
The third and final stage is the medical and non medical equipment phase which presently is in the process of procurement, installation, training and maintenance.
The sod-cutting ceremony on Afari land in Kumasi will come off on 20th March 2014, with a stipulated timeline of 42 months as the commercial contract between Euroget De-Invest and the MOD.
At a signing on ceremony the Minister of Defence, Hon. Mark Owen Woyongo indicated that the project was very dear to the heart of the military as well as government thus, the need to treat the contract with all the attention it deserves and to complete work on schedule.
“I wish the contractors move to site to commence work immediately because we want the project complete ahead of schedule, since there is no problem with payment we don’t envisage a delay”, he said.
The minister indicated that the Military Hospital in Kumasi when completed would be of immense help to military personnel within the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions, other neighbouring countries and also to the civilian community.
According to him, the 500 bed Military Hospital will enhance access to affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for the military and civilian community.
Mr. Woyongo said “Euroget is noted for quality and excellence and I know they shall deliver best services to the government and people of Ghana. I urge you to maintain your record by completing the project on time.’’
In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Euroget De-Invest Dr. Said Deraz said his outfit was committed to keeping its promise and will deliver the project on stipulated period.
“Euroget De-Invest stands for the best and will guarantee value for money. I have 42 months to hand over the project, and this I pledge to meet the deadline, he said.
The CEO of Euroget, Dr. Said insisted his company do not compromise on quality but committed to excellence, saying “we are here to partner government’s effort at enhancing infrastructural development in the country.’’
