
Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) Ghana has supported the University of Ghana by sponsoring the best graduating student in computer science at the institute’s award ceremony recently.
Receiving the award of a laptop and other IT accessories, Nana Bayin Menyah, said he was very happy that he has been adjudged as the best computer science student.
“I am very proud of what I have done and I will like to thank my parents for supporting me through my education and CWG for sponsoring this segment of the awards,” he said.
CWG Country Manager, Harriet Yartey said ICT education is key in the drive towards creating a technologically driven continent.
“In pursuance of our corporate social responsibility, therefore, we are committed to developing, encouraging and supporting individuals who aspire to become successful, most especially in the area of information technology.
She added that the company recognises the ICT sector needs of more human resources, therefore, “by recognizing excellence through education; we inspire young talents and also help carry professionalism into the job market.”
Mrs. Yartey added that CWG will continue to advance and support education in the IT sector, and looking beyond 10 years of doing business in Ghana, “we have also commenced our IT Academy, where the youth have been offered the platform to be trained to gain practical experience in the various fields of ICT such as hardware, software, storage management, virtualization, ITIL, amongst others.”
