GFA Boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has exercised the option of mediation in a bid to retrieve money owed to Premier League clubs as part of the sponsorship package with telecoms giant GLO.
Premier league clubs have been agitating over the non-payment funds for almost a year which has led to most clubs facing bankruptcy.
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi said the Association has been forced to resort to other means.
“We have a contract with GLO and they have defaulted, we have exercised the option of mediation to retrieve the money”.
The GFA met last week with GLO where an agreement was reached to pay the money this week but according to Kwasi Nyantakyi, no money has arrived.
The Nigerian company has been the headline sponsor of the league for about 3 years now but has failed to execute its obligations fully in every season of its partnership with the Ghana Football Association.
