The National Service Secretariat has given agencies that would require the services of national service personnel this year seven days to send their requests.
Over 70, 000 service personnel are expected to be deployed across the country for the 2013/2014 service year.
According to the National Service Secretariat postings will start next month after all prospective personnel complete their online registration.
Speaking to Citi News
, the Public Relations Officer of the Secretariat, Ambrose Entsiwah said majority of the service personnel would be deployed to the education, health and agricultural sectors.
“Registration is ongoing and we expect that within the next week or two, it will be over. The program is such that by mid-August, we will do the posting; and be able to deploy service personnel,” he stated.
Mr. Entsiwah further mentioned, “We are asking user agencies to send in their requests. We are giving them up to the 17th of July and I can tell you for a fact that majority of our postings will be geared toward the education sector.”
“The education sector has always taken between 60-65% of the total number of service personnel that we deploy and we will certainly post people to the health and agricultural sector. We are really into agriculture and so definitely a number will go into that area,” he added.
