President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his appreciation to private entities that have established universities across the country.
According to the President, since government alone cannot meet the educational needs of the country, the need for more private partnership in the establishment of universities was critical.
The President made point during the inauguration of a taskforce to see to the establishment of a public university in the Eastern Region on Tuesday.
“I want to thank all those who are investing in this aspect of education for our young people and express government’s appreciation and also encourage others to do same” he said.
According to him, “as our population grows, the demand for quality tertiary education continues to increase and so there is space for both the public and the private sector to be able to provide this service to our people.”
