A KIA truck overloaded with tubers of yam has overturned at the Legon, Madina road stretch of the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange.
The accident occurred when the truck carrying over 3,000 tubers of yam overturned thus causing traffic on that road stretch.
According to Citi News’
reporter, Rabiu Alhasan
who was at the scene of the accident, the three occupants of the KIA truck including the driver were seriously injured and have since been rushed to the Legon hospital.
Narrating the incident to Citi News,
the brother of the driver, John Nazombi explained that the truck experienced a flat tyre thus causing the vehicle to overturn.
He said: “The car didn’t overturn because it was overloaded. This kind of truck normally loads about 3,000 tubers of yam so it is normal. It was caused by a flat tyre and not the yams.”
