National Security Coordinator, Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey
The embattled national organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Yaw Boateng Gyan, is to be hauled before national security for his comments over recruiting party members into the Special Forces of the Ghana Army.
The National Security Coordinator, Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey, revealed that his outfit would be inviting the NDC’s national organizer to clarify his comments, especially those bothering on recruiting some persons into the national security special forces.
In an interview with Citi News
, Col. Lartey indicated that "I want to head the team that is going to question him."
He said, "as to whether we have given him an invitation or not, that is neither here nor there... It just takes a phone call to get him into our office."
Col. Lartey's comments come on the back of a leaked tape on which the ruling party's kingpin was promising to help recruit persons into the Special Forces of the Ghana Army amongst others, comments that have raised some eyebrows.
"We are definitely going to invite him [Yaw Boateng Gyan] to explain and we are not pushed for timing in doing this because it is not like some mischief is going to be caused..., All what he said is not factual," Col. Lartey said.
"We appreciate the anxiety and that is why I am giving the assurance that they can trust us and we will be calling the gentleman to question him as to why he could make such a bluff or make such a statement."
