The feeling in the Western Region’s capital, Sekondi-Takoradi, is getting hotter by the day as skaters, artists, painters and models prepare for the upcoming official Street Skating Festival in Takoradi on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
SkateFest, which has come to stay as Ghana’s official street skating festival, brings together skaters from all over county and even neighboring Ivory Coast to compete for the ultimate prize, a trophy as the best skater in the country.
For three years in a row, organisers of this festival, targeted at the youth; Power Haus Promotions has unearthed numerous natural talents and helped polished others in many fields through SkateFest.
As a total entertainment festival, SkateFest has always treated patrons to amazing display of skating skills with wonderful side attractions.
This year, organizer’s of the festival, Power haus promotions hints there will be performances from Graffiti Artists, Sculptures, Street models, Body artists, Magicians, Stunt motor bikers, etc.
These will be interspersed with music and food bazaar.
Marking the 3rd edition, SkateFest 2018 promises to be bigger and better and will feature fifty-five (55) skaters from Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tarkwa, Bibiani and Cape Coast.
Acclaimed as the biggest event in Takoradi on Saturday 24th March 2018, all roads lead to the entrance of Takoradi Technical University (TTU) for the much awaited skating competition.
Dr. Kweku Afriyie-Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere-Darko Mensah, the MP for the Takoradi Constituency, Anthony K. K. Sam, the mayor of STMA as well as the Rev. Prof. John Eshun who is the pro-vice chancellor of TTU will be gracing the occasion.
This year’s edition of Sk8fest is sponsored by Venus Mosquito coil and Spray, Miksi, Abigi Pharma and Decathlon.
