A children’s playground has been opened at the Kakum National Park in the Central Region.
The aim of this new branch of the national park, is to help diversify its tourism potential and serve as the perfect place for children who visit the park to play, learn and interact with nature.
It was launched by the Ghana Heritage Conservation Trust in November 2017.
Present at the launch was the Deputy Central Regional Minister, Thomas Agyei Baffoe, and Akyeamehene of the Denkyira State, Nana Akomea Ntrakwah III.
The Ghana Heritage Conservation Trust also launched the animal viewing zone on that same day, and solicited both technical and financial support for the restoration of the Kakum Exhibition Hall.
“… this year marks 20 years since the GHCT has been managing the famous Kakum Canopy Walkway. We thank God that it has remained safe all these years. I assure you that at Kakum, we do not compromise on safety,” said Maise Howell (Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Heritage Conservation Trust) at the launch.
