Members of the Federation of Young Farmers Ghana, have visited the Caltech Cassava Processing Factory at Hodzo in the Volta Region; to explore the operations of the company to build mutual relations.
Federation of Young Farmers Ghana; is an association of young entrepreneurs in agriculture exploring opportunities in the value chain of agriculture through collaborations.
The Founder and Executive President; Anthony Morrison, said the visit was to among other things make the association become a cassava out-grower group which would provide the needed raw material for the factory.
Another member, Dr. Kofi Boakye, who is a medical doctor by profession, underscored the need to understand agriculture as a business and not just a hobby. He said the main objectives of the federation is to bring together a network of farmers, entrepreneurs and its intermediaries tO support the economy.
Caltech Ventures Ghana Limited is a biofuel company at Hodzo near Ho, which is into the production of ethanol from cassava, biogas and carbon dioxide.
The company’s Managing Director, Chris Quarshie, told Citifmonline THAT he was excited to see the youth group and was optimistic of a good working relationship with the Federation of Young Farmers Ghana.
